Argentina plans a radical easing of wine law
Argentina plans a law that would leave the national wine institute INV mainly checking health and adulteration. Origin, vintage and grape variety would become largely voluntary. Bottling would no longer have to happen in the region of origin, and imported wine could be blended with Argentine wine.

- TheWijn.org Fine Wine index On 1 September 2026 the index stands at 333 euro excluding VAT for 75 centilitres. It tracks fine wine that changes hands regularly, not a shop price.
- Catarrato in Sicily Catarrato is the most planted grape in Sicily. A white bottle first smelled like Sauvignon, the orange wine had its own character from the start.
- Chardonnay, climate oak and malo Chardonnay comes from Burgundy and is a cross of Pinot Noir and Gouais Blanc. Cool climates keep it taut, warm sites and malolactic fermentation make it creamier. Butter comes from that second ferment, not from oak.
- Sustainability logos can backfire Too many green claims on the bottle make buyers walk away. Sustainable often sounds like less flavour or a higher price. Greenhushing is farming sustainably without putting that on the label.
