Alto Piemonte op zondag: de lange weg terug
Rond het einde van de negentiende eeuw telde Alto Piemonte ongeveer 40.000 hectare wijngaard. Nu blijft daar circa 800 hectare van over. Industrialisering rond Biella en steile arbeid dreven de uittocht. Sinds de jaren 1990 komt herstel, met extra zichtbaarheid nadat Roberto Conterno in 2018 in Nervi in Gattinara stapte.

Alto Piemonte on Sunday: the long way back
Around the end of the nineteenth century Alto Piemonte had about 40,000 hectares of vineyard. About 800 hectares remain. Industrialisation around Biella and steep labour drove people out. Recovery began in the 1990s, with extra visibility after Roberto Conterno took a stake in Nervi in Gattinara in 2018.
