Franse oogst 2026 naar bijna 34 miljoen hectoliter
James Bayley schrijft op The Drinks Business dat het Franse ministerie van Landbouw de oogst 2026 op bijna 34 miljoen hectoliter zet. Dat is 6 procent minder dan 2025 en 17 procent onder het gemiddelde van 2021 tot 2025. Droogte en hittegolven, met 24,9 graden als juli-gemiddelde, en minder productief areaal drukken de opbrengst. Minister Annie Genevard kondigde meer dan 1 miljard euro steun aan.

- Southern Glazers en omkoping in de groothandel Tom Wark: Southern Glazers kreeg 12,5 miljoen dollar boete voor omkoping van inkopers. Omzet naar schatting 26 miljard. Derde federale of staatsboete sinds 2017. Het federale vergunningsysteem schrikt volgens hem niet af.

French wine production set to fall to 34m hectolitres after extreme summer
James Bayley writes on The Drinks Business that France’s Ministry of Agriculture puts the 2026 harvest at almost 34 million hectolitres. That is 6 percent below 2025 and 17 percent below the 2021 to 2025 average. Drought and heatwaves, with a July average of 24.9 degrees, and less productive vineyard area cut yields. Minister Annie Genevard announced more than 1 billion euros in support.
