Bordeaux: effects of biodynamics on grape skins
Researchers at the University of Bordeaux followed Cabernet Sauvignon at Château Lafite Rothschild for three years. Blocks treated with biodynamic preparations 500, 501 and cow-pat compost developed thicker skins and more polyphenols than the organic control. In a laboratory test, 69 percent of those berries were damaged by grey rot after 23 days, against 89 percent in the control.
