British Columbia telt meer dan 300 wijnhuizen. De gids Best Kept Secrets of BC Wine Country 2025 van BC Wine Trends is de vijfde editie en belicht tien bezoekersplekken, vooral in de Okanagan Valley. De vallei ligt ten oosten van Vancouver, rond Kelowna, Summerland, West Kelowna, Oliver en Osoyoos.
Overview
British Columbia has more than 300 wineries. The guide Best Kept Secrets of BC Wine Country 2025 from BC Wine Trends is the fifth edition and highlights ten visitor places, mainly in the Okanagan Valley. The valley lies east of Vancouver, around Kelowna, Summerland, West Kelowna, Oliver and Osoyoos.

Oude stokken en Baco Noir
Tantalus en Sperling in East Kelowna werken met oude Riesling-stokken van circa 45 jaar. Pioneer Vineyards bij Tantalus heeft doorlopende wijnbouw sinds 1927. Sperling plantte 1,67 acre Old Vines Riesling in 1978 op een zuidwestelijke kalkrijke rug. Eerste vintage 2008, circa 7.500 cases per jaar totaal, circa 200 cases van de old-vine Riesling. Ancient Hill en Summerhill Pyramid worden genoemd als huizen met 100 procent Baco Noir.
Oude stokken en Baco Noir
Tantalus and Sperling in East Kelowna work with old Riesling vines of about 45 years. Pioneer Vineyards at Tantalus has continuous viticulture since 1927. Sperling planted 1.67 acres of Old Vines Riesling in 1978 on a south-west lime-rich ridge. First vintage 2008, about 7.500 cases a year in total, about 200 cases of the old-vine Riesling. Ancient Hill and Summerhill Pyramid are named as houses with 100 percent Baco Noir.
Bezoek en beleving
Arrowleaf Cellars is bekend om picknickterreinen met uitzicht op Lake Okanagan. Sperling heeft een wijngaardlabyrint met proeftent. Hester Creek combineert Golden Mile-wijnen met villa-accommodatie en kelderbezoek, onder meer rond The Judge. Grizzli Winery in West Kelowna opende in 2016 met een grote proefruimte en wisselende kunsttentoonstellingen. District Wine Village bundelt meerdere proeflokalen op één terrein.
Bezoek en beleving
Arrowleaf Cellars is known for picnic grounds with a view of Lake Okanagan. Sperling has a vineyard labyrinth with a tasting tent. Hester Creek combines Golden Mile wines with villa lodging and cellar visits, including around The Judge. Grizzli Winery in West Kelowna opened in 2016 with a large tasting room and changing art shows. District Wine Village gathers several tasting rooms on one site.
