Pinot Noir, Chili
Chili heeft circa 3900 hectare Pinot Noir. De rijen staan vooral in koelere zones, met invloed van de Stille Oceaan.
De wijnen kunnen fris en elegant zijn, met rood fruit en evenwicht. Beatriz Rietveldt, handelsadviseur van ProChile in Nederland, merkt op dat de druif in Nederland nog weinig bekend is, terwijl flessen al in de handel staan.
International Pinot Noir Day valt op 18 augustus. Dat is een aanleiding om Chileense Pinot Noir naast Bourgogne of Nieuw-Zeeland te zetten, niet in plaats daarvan.

Chile has about 3900 hectares of Pinot Noir. The rows stand mainly in cooler zones, with influence from the Pacific Ocean.
The wines can be fresh and elegant, with red fruit and balance. Beatriz Rietveldt, trade adviser for ProChile in the Netherlands, notes that the grape is still little known in the Netherlands, while bottles are already in trade.
International Pinot Noir Day falls on 18 August. That is a reason to put Chilean Pinot Noir beside Bourgogne or New Zealand, not in place of them.
