Markt in het kort

Duitsland was met circa 19,6 miljoen hectoliter wijn en sekt de vierde wijnmarkt ter wereld. De oogst leverde ongeveer 10 miljoen hectoliter. Inlandse wijn dekte daarmee ruwweg de helft van de vraag.

Pro-kop-verbruik circa 23,9 liter per jaar, hoogste niveau sinds de hereniging. Rotwijn nam circa 48 procent van het volume, wit circa 43 procent. Duitse wijn had volgens GfK circa 48,7 procent marktaandeel in volume, Frankrijk circa 16 procent, Italië circa 13 procent.

Duitsland telde circa 104 duizend hectare wijngaard. Rheinhessen, Pfalz en Baden zijn de grootste Anbaugebiete in de rebflächen-tabel.

Market in brief

Germany was, with about 19.6 million hectolitres of wine and Sekt, the fourth wine market in the world. The harvest yielded about 10 million hectolitres. Domestic wine thus covered roughly half of demand.

Consumption per head about 23.9 litres a year, the highest level since reunification. Red wine took about 48 percent of volume, white about 43 percent. German wine had according to GfK about 48.7 percent market share by volume, France about 16 percent, Italy about 13 percent.

Germany had about 104 thousand hectares of vineyard. Rheinhessen, Pfalz and Baden are the largest Anbaugebiete in the vineyard-area table.
