Het Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin, Pôle Sud-Ouest, werkt vanuit het V Innopôle bij Peyrole in Occitanie, Frankrijk. Het experimentele domein beslaat circa 15 hectare. In 2025-2026 liepen 58 onderzoeks- en proefprojecten in Frankrijk en internationaal, waarvan 12 Europese. Financiering circa 39 procent nationaal, 27 procent Europees, 17 procent regionaal en 16 procent privaat. Thematisch veel agro-ecologie en klimaat.

The Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin, Pôle Sud-Ouest, works from the V Innopôle near Peyrole in Occitanie, France. The experimental estate covers about 15 hectares. In 2025-2026, 58 research and trial projects ran in France and internationally, of which 12 were European. Klimaat en weerbaarheid
Project So-Adapt leverde in 2025 een territoriale kwetsbaarheidsanalyse tot 2035-2050 voor de Sud-Ouest-wijngaarden. Niet zozeer minder regen, wel hogere verdampingsvraag. Gaillac, Fronton en Tarn-et-Garonne horen bij de warmste en droogste zones. Madiran en westelijk Gascogne zijn minder krap in waterbalans. Aanpassing combineert plantmateriaal, bodem, teelt en water. DECSO is het regionale demonstratieproject onder het nationale programma Vitilience, met percelen in Gers, Tarn, Haute-Garonne, Lot en Aveyron.
Klimaat en weerbaarheid
Project So-Adapt delivered in 2025 a territorial vulnerability analysis to 2035-2050 for the Sud-Ouest vineyards. Not so much less rain, but higher evaporative demand. Gaillac, Fronton and Tarn-et-Garonne belong to the warmest and driest zones. Madiran and western Gascogne are less tight on water balance. Adaptation combines plant material, soil, growing and water. DECSO is the regional demonstration project under the national Vitilience programme, with plots in Gers, Tarn, Haute-Garonne, Lot and Aveyron.

Perceel Inovitiplant met 15 resistente rassen, 1.020 planten. Negret de la Canourgue staat in het nationale rassencatalogus. Bouquet 3160 is in 2026 ingeschreven, ook in biologische teelt. Op het domein daalde het gebruik van gewasbescherming in 2025 met circa 73 procent door gerichte sturing op meeldauw en black rot.
Plantmateriaal en domein
In 2025: about 101.440 grafted plants, 7.000 replants and 46.000 plants, of which about 42.000 Bouquet. New pre-multiplication clones: Sauvignon BM 1, Fer Servadou 1347, Verdanel 1301. Plot Inovitiplant with 15 resistant varieties, 1.020 plants. Negret de la Canourgue is in the national variety catalogue. Bouquet 3160 was registered in 2026, also in organic growing. On the estate, crop-protection use fell in 2025 by about 73 percent through targeted control of mildew and black rot.

Jaarlijks meer dan 30 proeven van 50 liter. In 2025: 117 rood, 270 wit, 5 rosé, 49 mousserend. Voor een mogelijke regionale IGP-bulles in de Sud-Ouest, in opdracht van IVSO, werden 38 mousserende wijnen gemaakt. Vergelijking Charmat onder drie maanden versus gazéificatie: gazéificatie bewaart thiol- en gistprofielen beter, Charmat geeft meer volume. Terpeenprofiel blijft stabiel. Ook werk aan méthode ancestrale in Gaillac, gedeeltelijke dealcoholisatie tijdens gisting, en een nieuw vacuüm-vortex dealcoholisatie-apparaat.
Kelder en mousserend
Each year more than 30 trials of 50 litres. In 2025: 117 red, 270 white, 5 rosé, 49 sparkling. For a possible regional IGP-bulles in the Sud-Ouest, commissioned by IVSO, 38 sparkling wines were made. Comparison Charmat under three months versus carbonation: carbonation keeps thiol and yeast profiles better, Charmat gives more volume. The terpene profile stays stable. Also work on méthode ancestrale in Gaillac, partial dealcoholisation during fermentation, and a new vacuum-vortex dealcoholisation device.
Biodiversiteit
Ecodiagnose ECOSPHEREWINES op het domein in Peyrole: meer dan 200 plantensoorten en circa 216 faunataxa, waaronder 75 vogelsoorten. Aanbevelingen: meer begroeiing tussen rijen, ongemaaide refuges, lokale zaden onder Vegetal Local.
Biodiversiteit
