Semmerrod, Weingut Schnaitmann
Semmerrod is een wijngaard van Weingut Schnaitmann in Fellbach, in Württemberg in Duitsland. De aanplant dateert van 1990. Rainer Schnaitmann plantte mee als student in Geisenheim.
Tussen 2009 en 2010 ging het perceel over op biologische teelt. De onderstam 26G wortelt ondiep. Daardoor vielen stokken uit. Die zijn grotendeels herplant. Sinds de overstap naar biodynamie is er volgens Schnaitmann weer meer vitaliteit, ook bij droogte. De jongere herplantingen slaan aan.
Inzaai brengt meer biodiversiteit. Wikkelen van de scheuten en geen loofsnede verbeterden de stand verder. Behalve zeer kleine giften compost krijgt de wijngaard al jaren geen bemesting. Het loof is donkerder dan in de buurpercelen. Het huis hoopt ondanks hitte op een spannende Lämmler Riesling 2026.

Semmerrod, Weingut Schnaitmann
Semmerrod is a vineyard of Weingut Schnaitmann in Fellbach, in Württemberg in Germany. The planting dates from 1990. Rainer Schnaitmann planted with the team as a student in Geisenheim.
Between 2009 and 2010 the plot moved to organic growing. Rootstock 26G roots shallow. Vines therefore failed. Most of those were replanted. Since the switch to biodynamics there is, according to Schnaitmann, more vitality again, also in drought. The younger replants take hold.
Sowing between the rows brings more biodiversity. Tucking the shoots and no leaf-hedging improved the stand further. Apart from very small compost gifts the vineyard has had no fertiliser for years. The foliage is darker than in neighbouring plots. The house hopes, despite heat, for an exciting Lämmler Riesling 2026.
