Azienda Agricola Paolo Saracco
Azienda Agricola Paolo Saracco
Castiglione Tinella sits in the historic production area of Moscato d’Asti. The Saracco family has made this aromatic wine here since the start of the 20th century. Careful work in their own vineyards is a core part of the process and builds a close bond with the terroir that suits Moscato.
Under founder Luigi Saracco the family first put its aromatic Moscato on the market. In that period the wine was mainly sold in bulk, especially in spring, to firms that make Vermouth. With Giovanni, son of Luigi, at the helm the family firm grew further.
New vineyards were bought and grape production rose. In those years the wine was mainly sold to producers of Asti Spumante. Changes were also made in the process to make Moscato more attractive to a wider public. The passion and craft of earlier generations continue with Paolo Saracco, son of Giovanni and the current owner.
After his oenology studies Paolo decided to bottle the Moscato himself. That is how the brand Paolo Saracco began. It introduces wine lovers in Italy and far beyond to an aromatic and well-balanced Moscato d’Asti. Careful work in vineyard and cellar, and a balance of tradition and modern technique, later made Moscato Saracco a reference point in the wine world.
And all of that from the heart of the Moscato area in Castiglione Tinella, where the family works 50 hectares of vineyard, fully in the traditions of true growers.
