Tenute Lunelli
Met de wijnbouwervaring van drie generaties achter de rug, besloot de familie Lunelli haar passie voor de wijnbouw ten volle te cultiveren door aan haar zeer succesvolle Ferrari Trentodoc mousserende wijnen, een collectie stille wijnen van topkwaliteit toe te voegen. De familie exploiteert drie wijnhuizen in verschillende regios van Italië: Tenuta Margon in Trentino, Tenuta Podernovo in Toscane en Tenuta Castelbuono in Umbrië.
Het avontuur begon in de jaren tachtig, toen ze begonnen met het creëren van wijnen in Trentino die voortbouwden op hun ervaring met Chardonnay en Pinot Noir op grote hoogte. Ze werden verleid door de charme van de heuvels van de Costa Toscana, en in het bijzonder door de met wijngaarden gevulde heuvel waarop het historische Casale Podernovo ligt.
Daarom startten ze hun nieuwe avontuur in Toscane met de aankoop van 40 hectare grond in het dorp Terricciola. In 2001 breidden ze hun activiteiten uit naar Umbrië, een oud en mystiek land. Hier kochten ze terreinen aan in Bevagna en Montefalco, waarvan sommige al wijngaarden waren.
Na tientallen jaren van toewijding werd dit grootschalige project, waarin landbouw en leven, kwaliteit en schoonheid samenkomen, het merk Tenute Lunelli. Een merk gekozen om de typische kenmerken van gebieden die bijzonder geschikt zijn voor het maken van heerlijke wijnen uit te drukken: producten die hun specifieke terroirs op een diepgaande manier interpreteren en waarvan de onderscheidende eigenschap hun elegantie en levensduur is.
Het landgoed Podernovo in Toscane was in 2012 het eerste landgoed van de groep dat een biologische certificering ontving, gevolgd door Castelbuono in Umbrië in 2014. De wijngaarden in Trentino werden uiteindelijk gecertificeerd in 2017.

With the viticultural experience of three generations behind them, the Lunelli family decided to fully cultivate their passion for winegrowing by adding a collection of top-quality still wines to their very successful Ferrari Trentodoc sparkling wines. The family runs three estates in different regions of Italy: Tenuta Margon in Trentino, Tenuta Podernovo in Tuscany and Tenuta Castelbuono in Umbria.
The adventure began in the 1980s, when they started creating wines in Trentino that built on their experience with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at high altitude. They were drawn by the charm of the hills of the Costa Toscana, and in particular by the vineyard-filled hill on which the historic Casale Podernovo stands.
That is why they started their new adventure in Tuscany with the purchase of 40 hectares of land in the village of Terricciola. In 2001 they extended their work to Umbria, an old and mystic land. Here they bought land in Bevagna and Montefalco, some of which was already vineyard.
After decades of dedication this large-scale project, in which farming and life, quality and beauty come together, became the Tenute Lunelli brand. A brand chosen to express the typical character of areas especially suited to making fine wines: products that interpret their specific terroirs in a deep way and whose distinctive quality is their elegance and longevity.
The Podernovo estate in Tuscany was the first estate of the group to receive organic certification in 2012, followed by Castelbuono in Umbria in 2014. The vineyards in Trentino were finally certified in 2017.
