Villa Della Torre
Het Italiaanse wijnhuis Villa Della Torre is een van de meest fascinerende landhuizen uit de Italiaanse Renaissance. Het werd ontworpen tussen eind 1440 en 1562 door Giulio Romano en Michele Sanmicheli. In 2008 werd de villa gekocht door Marilisa Allegrini, die er een wijn- en kunstrelais van maakte, evenals de Villa Della Torre wijngaard.
Het project wordt nu beheerd door haar dochters Carlotta en Caterina. Het landgoed is gelegen in de gemeente Desenzano del Garda in Lugana en produceert wijnen in twee gebieden met een sterke wijnbouwidentiteit: Valpolicella Classico en Lugana. Valpolicella staat al sinds de Romeinse tijd bekend om de kwaliteit van zijn wijnstokken en wijnen.
In Lugana profiteert de wijnbouw van het klimaat en het ecosysteem van het nabijgelegen Gardameer. Het wijnhuis werkt volgens duurzame methoden die de biodiversiteit van het land respecteren en beschermen.
Villa Della Torre
The Italian winery Villa Della Torre is one of the most fascinating country houses of the Italian Renaissance. It was designed between the late 1440s and 1562 by Giulio Romano and Michele Sanmicheli. In 2008 the villa was bought by Marilisa Allegrini, who made it a wine and art relais, as well as the Villa Della Torre vineyard.
The project is now run by her daughters Carlotta and Caterina. The estate lies in the commune of Desenzano del Garda in Lugana and produces wines in two areas with a strong winegrowing identity: Valpolicella Classico and Lugana. Valpolicella has been known since Roman times for the quality of its vines and wines.
In Lugana viticulture benefits from the climate and the ecosystem of nearby Lake Garda. The winery works with sustainable methods that respect and protect the biodiversity of the land.
